Starting Your Own Brand: 3 of My Secret Tips

Starting a digital marketing business can be overwhelming. It requires tons of research, knowledge, and of course, identifying the strengths that can help you up to your digital branding game. After all, you do not only want to have the website up on the internet; you want to generate leads, get clients, and ace your business.

I understand how the competition is fierce, and that's why you need to be at the top of everything.

If this is something you are interested in, I've good news for you - 3 hacks that can help you get started with a bang!

  1. Have 'good enough' industry knowledge

First things first. It is of utmost importance to know what you are selling online. You cannot impress your target audience unless you have a 'good enough' knowledge of your services or the products.

Get your pen and paper ready and start your research TODAY. Find out who is already a champion in your niche, look closely at their profiles. Observe what is working best for them and how you can take inspiration for your digital marketing business.

Knowing your industry will help you evaluate your risks and finances that can eventually help you make informed choices. Take a week, a month, or maybe three months but do not compromise on your research.

Pro Tip: Know that you have 'good enough' knowledge when you can identify S, W, O, and T - Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threats related to your services or products.

  1. Craft Your Marketing Personas

Once you have a complete grip over your niche, you are all set to develop imaginary profiles of your target audience - aka marketing personas.

The first step to develop a marketing persona requires you to talk to your target audience. Identify their age, profession, gender, and pain points ( what barriers they experience to get their hands on your service/product).

Based on your audience's age, profession, gender, and pain points, craft at least imaginary people. For your ease, you can give them names as well.

Now that you have your personas ready - try selling your services/products to them. Come up with questions from their end to answer from your end.

  1. Expand Your Creativity

Creating the personas will then lead you to the third most important step of starting your digital marketing business - getting your creative and aesthetic juices to flow.

I mean, your next step is to decide the digital branding tone and colors. It involves deciding the logo, font, website design, banner style, and the kind of language that will resonate with your target audience.

For instance, if your target audience is health-based businesses, you need to have something around red and blue with formal language. On the other hand, if you want to help women with PCOS, then you will need to have pinkish colors with a sympathetic tone. However, you can also use a mix of all colors and a very joyful voice when your target audience is kids or newborn mummies.

I don’t want to miss the opportunity of telling you that every digital brand needs time and patience to build-on. It is simply impossible to gain 10,000 followers in a week. Don’t fall for these traps. Instead, work on your brand whole-heartedly. Put your time, build an organic audience and wait for the best outcomes.
